Kids Church

To protect families within our community, all kids ministries are postponed due to COVID-19.

BLAST

All Blast events have been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19.

What is Blast?

Blast is our awesome once a term kids club for children in Years 2-5. Kids from the community come to hang out, play games, do craft, cooking or sport, and learn more about Jesus. It runs from 4:00-5:45pm at Hastings Secondary College, Port Macquarie Campus, Owen Street. Cost is $2 and afternoon tea is provided.

Who runs Blast?

Blast is run by a committed, fun and caring team of volunteers from The Point Community Church. They are safe ministry approved and trained. They love getting to know kids and are ready to have a blast with them!

I would like to bring my child to Blast. What do I need to know?

If it's your child’s first night, you'll need to fill out a registration form upon arrival so that we can care well for your child. Alternatively, you can fill in a registration form beforehand here. After this, children can sign themselves in each week. However, at the end of the night, we require an adult to pick them up and sign the child out. They will receive a flyer about the next event as they leave.

Summerfest

Summerfest is an annual community event run each year in January, which includes a children's holiday program. The Summerfest Kids Club has been going for 8 years, and has proven to be a huge attraction with children living in and around Port Macquarie.

Each year hundreds of kids spend a few hours enjoying games, food, drama, bible talks, songs and various activities.

Summerfest Kids Club in 2020 ran from January 13-16 with the theme 'A Medieval Quest'. Details for 2021 are yet to be confirmed.

Junior Jivers

Junior Jivers has been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19.

Junior Jivers is a half hour music and movement group for children under 5.
The group runs every Friday from 9:30am during public school terms. It’s a fun session that includes singing, playing instruments, movement, dancing and stories (including simple bible stories). Mums, Dads and Grandparents join in with their children, providing a great opportunity to enjoy singing and jiving together.

Junior Jivers meets in the Emerald Downs Community Centre (Suite 1, 100 Ocean Drive Port Macquarie)

Cost is $2 per week. You are also welcome to pay for a whole term up front for $20. This money helps to cover the cost of music, materials and equipment used in the group.

Junior Jivers is run by volunteers and is proudly supported by The Point Community Church.

SRE IN Local Schools

The Point Community Church has suspended its SRE teaching until further notice due to COVID-19.

The Point Community Church provides Special Religious Education (SRE) at a number of local schools, including:

  • Tacking Point Public school,
  • Hastings Public School,
  • Port Macquarie Public School, and
  • Westport Public School

A letter is provided to each school which clearly identifies the approved provider and includes the names and details of authorised teachers. The letter is updated annually before the start of term 1 or as required.

SRE takes the form of a 30min class each week using an SRE approved curriculum.

All our SRE Teachers have undergone the necessary SRE Accreditation Training, have completed Safe Ministry Training within the past three years, and have current NSW Working With Children Checks.
